If I Was A Principle For A Week

If I was a Principal for a week the changes I will make will be:

1. I would hire a League/ rugby coach to play tackle at lunch so the kids won't get hurt.

2.  I would let the kids have show and tell once every 2 weeks.

3. I would make mufti once every 2 weeks free until there is a fundraiser.

4. I WOULD MAKE THE SCHOOL BULLY FREE FOR EVER!

Fantail Collage

We have been learning to make a collage on Google Drawing. We had to use the explore, mask and arrange tools to get our collage to come together. We had to make a NZ bird and put it into its habitat. It was a lot of fun and I am really pleased with my bird. Have you ever had a go at this?
Making this piece of art was a bit hard.

This year the senior classes and schools went to the film festival at the Regent Thereater Greymouth. Karoro School at the Film Festival Today on the 14/11/19 the year 5, 6, 7 and 8’s went to the Regent Theatre in, Greymouth New Zealand. We traveled there on a school bus. When we got there, there were at least of other schools there too. My favourite film was a film made by Paroa. For the first two minutes of the film they were acting as news presenters. After the interview they added music for the burglar to sleep behind a building. The detectives made a noise which woke him up. While the burglar was running the video was put in slow motion. While they were running the detectives threw their pipes and guns. The robber had this weird face which made everyone laugh. At the end they tackled him picked him up and jumped in the air for some reason. The actors were Sammie, Caitlin and Pippa, they made the film entertaining. The film was about a burglar robbing a town which was Paroa School and they had detectives trying to find the burglar. The sound quality was good, they just needed to speak a little louder. The editing was good but would be better if they had more time for interviewing and less time for the re-enactment. Their storyline made sense and it was clear to see what was happening. Unfortunately they had no title. During the interviews they were talking about where they were. All together they just needed to work on some things Eg more special effects, have a title, and have clear voices. I think we should keep the film festival going because it tells me what other schools have been working on. It also gave me ideas for next year’s film festival.

Screencastify

This week our class had to screencastify any of our work. Once we chose our work we had to record. when we were recording we had to say what our challenge was and what our goal was. I found hard to look at the camera and listing to my voice. I chose this this doc because I want to let people know why we should have dogs, and why they keep us company. I had to embed it onto my blog which was much quicker than downloading it.

What Is The Difference Between a B And A Wasp

WALT
We are learning to write an information report.

 Success Criteria:
We will plan and then write an information report on a topic of our choice related to bees.

Our report will:
  • Be interesting!
  • Give information about a topic of our choice related to bees.
  • Show a clear link to our planning.
  • Start with an opening statement about our topic.
  • Have at least 3 paragraphs.  Each paragraph will have an opening statement and a series of facts related to that statement.
  • Include some complex or compound sentence structures.
  • Include at least one diagram, photograph, illustration or map to go with the text.
  • Finish with a general statement about the topic.
  • Use information from at least 3 different sources.  This information will be written in our own words and we will write down our sources at the end of our report.

Do you know the difference between a bee and a wasp? Well I do.
There are different sizes between bees, wasps and honey bees…  A bee is less than 2mm. It’s probably one of the smallest flying insects and What about the wasp? The wasp is 1.2mm or 0.8mm less than a bee.  But the wasp deserves that size so it can get around quicker for example, if a spider is trying to trap it. Why is the bee fat? Bees are fat because they collect nectar and they gain weight off the nectar. The wasp is skinny because it does not collect nectar.

Why do they have different patterns or colours?
Bees have a different shade of black and yellow because of the hair. Bees have hair so they can complete their task of collecting nectar and spreading pollen. Hair of a bee is important because when they collect pollen from one flower it carries is to another. Most people say wasps do not pollinate they do! A pattern on a wasp is different than a bee because they don’t have hair… OBVIOUSLY! BUt the pattern on the wasps head is yellow black but in semicircles. Their wing patterns are different because a bee has to travel more than a wasp so they can collect nectar.

WHat do they eat or sting?
Wasps eat animals, flies and bees but first they need to paralyze them by stinging. Mostly they eat animals to get full easier instead of hunting for bees or flies all the time. The animals that wasps eat are bats and birds. You might think bees eat pollen they do not. They carry the pollen to hive and feed the larvae. Also bees are vegetarian. BELIEVE IT OR NOT! WASPS DO EAT ANIMALS! Sources

The Lightning Never Strikes Twice

WALT use adjectives and similes to describe a setting clearly

The scary windmill started to creek until “KABOOM THE THUNDER STRUCK,” then it felt like I was in heaven a massive flash of lighting struck and made me blind. I was lucky it was only one eye so I quickly ran into the windmill d٥٥ዪ but I was lucky enough it was unlocked. When I got in side It had looked like the silky sky darker than ever. It also smells like a wet dog. When I opened one of the room doors I imagined someone had lived here, when I looked under the bed it was the persons skull. When the thunder storm had finished I ran away and never went for a walk again.
20 years later,
I changed my mind and took a walk but guess where I went, exactly back to the windmill, and the same thing happens again but this time the skull was mine.
